Brittany Murphy

Brittany Anne Bertolotti-Monjack, known as Brittany Murphy (Atlanta, November 10, 1977 - West Hollywood, December 20, 2009) was an American actress. During his career, he portrayed several passionate roles and starred in various action films; the last one he worked on, the thriller Something Wicked, was published posthumously in 2014.

Brittany Murphy was born in Atlanta under the name Brittany Anne Bertolotti to an American mother of Irish and Eastern European descent Sharon Murphy and an American father of Italian descent Angelo Joseph Bertolotti (1926-2019). Her parents divorced when she was 2 and Brittany went to live with her mother, later changing her name to Brittany Anne Murphy. He initially lived in Edison, New Jersey and later in Burbank, California. At the age of nine, she participated as a singer in the musical Les Misérables, and at the age of thirteen she was already supported by a manager.

Her first job in Hollywood, when she was fourteen, saw her star as the lead character in The Primary School Teacher. In addition, at the beginning of the nineties, she was the leader of the band Blessed Soul. He subsequently starred in several films, including Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, Beverly Hills and Uptown; as well as several television appearances ranging from Sister, Sister to a role as a voice actress in the cartoon King of the Hill.

Since 2005, he has been a spokesperson for Jordache jeans. She appeared in the music video for A little respect by Wheatus (2001) and subsequently (2005) in the music video for Closest Thing to Heaven by Tears for Fears. In 2006, together with disc jockey Paul Oakenfold, he recorded the song Faster Kill Pussycat.

She died at the age of 32 on December 20, 2009 of cardiac arrest. An autopsy was performed on December 21, 2009, after which the medical examiner declared that he did not want to reveal anything about the causes of death before the final results of the toxicology tests. About a month and a half after her death, autopsy results revealed that the cause of Brittany's death was treatable pneumonia, aggravated by anemia and drug intoxication.

23. In May 2010, just five months later, her husband Simon Monjack was also found dead in his home in Los Angeles. The cause of death as for Brittany was pneumonia aggravated by anemia. The investigation at this point considered that the cause of the two deaths was to be attributed to the presence of a specific mold that infested the house, but checks found no support for this hypothesis.

Her sudden weight loss and various transformations over the years have led to speculation that she may have had an eating disorder or cocaine addiction. The actress disputed this statement at the time. On April 12, 2007, she married screenwriter Simon Monjack, with whom she remained until her death two years later.
